Chemical Spill Training Module 4 Activity

In this activity, you will identify a chemical that could expose you during normal work and use its Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to find out what Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. You will then locate that PPE in your workplace. This exercise will help you understand what protection is needed and confirm it is readily available when you need it.

Before you begin:

  • Choose one chemical that could expose you to splashes, fumes, dust, or skin contact during normal work tasks.
  • Locate the SDS for that chemical (held in your workplace’s SDS folder or system).
  • Have the SDS to hand before answering the questions below.

Note: Your answers to this activity will be printed out as part of your final course report.
