6.2 Infectious Substances Supplemental- Foundation Course
The Foundation course establishes the regulatory and operational framework for transporting Division 6.2 infectious substances by air. Designed for professionals who hold current a Dangerous Goods by Air certification, it focuses on the specific responsibilities and compliance requirements associated with infectious substances under dangerous goods transport regulations.
Participants will review shipper responsibilities, classification principles within subdivision 6.2, and core packaging requirements. The module also covers required marks and labels, overpacks, acceptance procedures, and accident response and exposure considerations.
This foundational training ensures learners can correctly identify and prepare infectious substances before progressing to shipment-specific instruction.
Completion of this module is required to unlock the four specialized tracks. Certification is awarded upon successful completion of a selected track and final assessment.
