The correct classification of dangerous goods is an important first step in the transport of dangerous goods. It determines whether the substance or article falls under one of the nine UN (United Nations) Hazard Classes or if it is non-hazardous for transport but may come under some other regulation that might affect the way you identify, pack, Mark/Label/Placard and Declare.
